Welcome to the Port Adelaide Bicycle User Group (‘PortBUG’). Who are we? Just local residents working to improve ‘Utility’ Bicycle Use & Active Mobility across the PA/E Council Area.

Our goals: A Better Bicycle Future through…

  • investment in Active Mobility across PA/E Council
  • provision of Greenways, off-road bike paths & connectivity
  • lower traffic speeds, safer roads & a Bike & Walking-Friendly Community!
“We're going to talk, then talk and someone is going to have to listen.” Cliff Crawford. http://cliffface.co.uk

Our approach: Cooperative community action & work with Council & Government:

  • to identify routes & destinations
  • build support for bicycle use & all forms of Active Mobility
  • improve infrastructure
  • speak up for practical bicycle use, walking & Active Transport.

The Purpose of This Site:  Simply to build awareness of bicycle use (and Active Mobility generally) as realistic and desirable alternatives to the motor vehicle. Alternative ways of ‘getting about’ on a day-to-day basis that look to the future, build health and economic, environmental, social and personal resilience!

Our Current Focus: In 2020 we’ll be focussing on:

  • the completion & enhancement of Port Adelaide’s Greenways
  • development & implementation of a new Port Adelaide Walking & Cycling Plan
  • development of a new Pt Adelaide/Enfield Integrated Transport Plan
  • development of new cycleways, including the amazing ‘Rosewater Loop’!
